The Promotiedivisie 2026-27 is under way: 41 of 90 games have been played. Leading: Attacus (group A), Den Helder Suns (group B) and Uitsmijters (group C).

18 teams, in three phases. Phase 1: three groups of six, who play each other twice. Phase 2: the top two of every group play in Elite A (6 teams, again twice against each other), the other twelve in Elite B (once against each other). In this division the points from phase 1 do not carry over. Phase 3: the table after phase 2 decides the post-season. Elite A and places 7 and 8 go to the Final8, whose winner is the Dutch champion. Places 1 to 12 earn the right to promote to the new Men's Basketball League, which starts in 2027-28. Places 13 to 16 play relegation games (13 against 16, 14 against 15, home and away), 17 and 18 are relegated. The OLA team cannot be relegated. In 2027-28 the Promotiedivisie goes back to 16 teams.
